Welcome Back to School

A message from Mrs Bedgood:

Dear All,

I'd like to say a huge 'well done' to all our pupils for their maturity and bravery!! They have returned to school without many issues at all which is to be commended considering the circumstances and the long absence from full time education. It has been lovely to see everyone and we look forward to welcoming our new starters in Willow over the next few days. I'd particularly like to welcome our children who are new to the school in other year groups and we will ensure that you settle in promptly and feel at home here asap!

We are aiming to get a newsletter to you by the end of tomorrow which will give you details of forthcoming events. Obviously, with current restrictions we cannot offer as many opportunities for you to come into school as usual but we are thinking of creative ways in which to keep you informed and involved as much as possible.

I know many of you will be concerned about 'catch up' and we are keen to assess the children as soon as possible and share outcomes with you. We will be putting time aside in the very near future to ascertain starting points particularly with key areas of the curriculum such as arithmetic, reading and phonics (for the younger pupils). We will continue to deliver our broad balanced curriculum as this is essential for developing all round learners , and foundation subjects are often a key motivator for children. As always, our main priority is the health and wellbeing of our pupils and during these early days we will be focussing on ensuring 'happiness' and rebooting our sense of the Stockton Primary community.

Thank you for your help and support - please contact us if you have any queries.

Anne
