Friday 13th March

Dear Parents and Carers,As you are all aware the most pressing news currently is that regarding Covid 19- corona virus. In school we are following the advice of Public Health England which is updated for us on a daily basis. Thankfully at the moment schools remain open and we are endeavouring to ensure business as usual. The hand hygiene regime is really important - we appreciate that this can cause other issues so we are providing a hypo-allergenic moisturiser, and would recommend you providing your own soap and moisturiser for your child if you have any concerns. We ask you to follow the advice given regarding isolation should your child develop any symptoms—these are a high temperature (37.8 degrees and above) and a new continuous cough. Any pupil displaying symptoms of high temperature, persistent cough and/or breathing difficulties will be sent home immediately, as indeed we would always do if a child was unwell. We fully intend to work through this time with a sensible, non-alarmist approach whilst taking necessary precautions. For the time being we will not be arranging any additional trips or visits but fully expect our residential to go ahead. We will keep you informed of developments and please ask if you have any concerns or queries. We have enjoyed skipping for Sport Relief today and thankfully we had good weather so could make the most of this opportunity. Henry and Josh also organised a basketball event which went down very well - good work boys!We had a Safeguarding Audit conducted by the Safeguarding lead from the multi-academy trust and I am pleased to say we passed with flying colours - 'we have an absolute culture of vigilance' - to reiterate the outcome of the audit. I would like to say that the safety of our children is our number one priority.I hope you all have a lovely weekend despite the current uncertainties.Mrs Bedgood
